OK, so I've been having problems with my SAW's rate of fire, it was shooting really slow especially in the cold weather so I figured I'd try one of those new Li Po batteries. WOW my rate of fire went from about 800 rpm to around 1200! My baby is singing now! I haven't used it in the field yet but so far I am very impressed. If you're thinking about getting one however there are some things you should know:
Pros: 1. Much more power than a normal battery 2. Holds charge longer when not in use 3. More shots from a full charge before it runs out 4. Lasts longer in cold weather (I haven't tested this yet) 5. Don't have to discharge
Cons: 1. Much more expensive 2. Need special charger 3. A little bigger than a normal battery 4. Battery must be stored charged 5. Cannot zip charge 6. Danger of fire or explosion if charged wrong. 7. IMPORTANT!!! If you use this type of battery there will be a lot more wear and tear on your gun. You risk shredding pistons, stripping gears and blowing out the front of the mechbox. These batteries should not be used in stock AEGs! There are some AEGs out there that are specially built for this type of abuse and it is possible to get specially reinforced mechboxes to handle them, but be forewarned if you want this type of power be ready for some maintenance headaches!
