I am looking to buy a gun for myself. I like the feel of the M16 and M4 so if anyone could point me in the right direction regarding what is good, where to buy stuff and various other accessories that are important I would be very grateful.

Well Echo 1 has never let me down. All three of my guns have taken a beating and came out on top. As for accessories get around ten mags FIRST (mid or standard your choice).

Yes, Echo 1 is a good brand, I hear good things about ICS as well. I have a Classic Army myself and to be honest it has given me some grief, I've had to replace all of the internal workings however my problems seem to be the exception and not the rule.
Some questions you need answered are do you want a metal body? what kind of velocity are you looking for? And what is your price range?
As for where to order from I usually go through Evike.com but if you want a brick and mortar store there is one in the Girbralter Trade Center and a couple in Lathrup Villiage that I shop at frequently. If you need an adress let me know.

If you can afford a TM or ICS avoid Echo 1. I say this because I do not trust clones the shoot hotter and are cheaper somethings amiss there. I never had a problem with my TM but yeah CA has given a few people some grief.

I love my Echo 1 614. It shot really hot out of box (420) but we got a 110 spring and it is shooting around 380. I also really like it because it is nothing but a rail system that shoots bullets. I have a scope, peq box, forward hand grip, M203, and a tac light and I still have room for more. The only bad thing about it is that since the battery is up front, you have to be really careful during teardown not to ruin to wire, and it is a two piece hop-up system. But overall I would not trade anything for my 614. I got is off of Evike.com and it ran $200 stock.
